Benchmark: 2026 Backup Tools — Velero 2.0 vs. Restic 0.17 vs. Duplicati 2.0 for 1TB Data. 1TB benchmark on 16 vCPUs, 64GB RAM, 2TB NVMe, 10Gbps. Restic 0.17: full backup 162MB/s (1h42m), incremental 210MB/s (5m for 100GB change). Best deduplication: 1TB → 620GB (38% reduction). Full restore 158MB/s, single-file restore 3.4s for 50MB. Backend support remains restic's strongest differentiator versus Borg and Kopia: native SFTP, S3-compatible, Backblaze B2, Azure Blob, and Google Cloud Storage, plus anything reachable through rclone.
